WE ARE INVITING KNITTERS & CROCHETERS BOTH BEGINNERS AS WELL AS EXPERTS TO HELP MAKING BREAST PROSTHESIS BY JOINING KNITTING/CROCHETING MARATHON SESSION AT DAAN UTSAV NAGPUR 2019
Apart from the trauma accompanying the diagnosis of cancer, the pain and side effects of treatment, patients must deal with the double whammy of losing their breast. Unlike the agony of losing hair during chemotherapy, the removal of breasts permanently affects women emotionally and psychologically.
For long, women undergoing a mastectomy, a silicone breast prosthesis was the only option. Many find them uncomfortable, heavy, sweaty and costly. Instead, we are knitting or crocheting the breast prosthesis which are soft, comfortable, washable & can be personalised.
It is made by volunteers using 100% cotton yarn. These are lighter, softer, washable & more comfortable than traditional breast prosthesis.
